Built late thirteenth century-early fourteenth century as a chapel-of-ease to the ancient church at Llanbeblig, within the walls of Edward I's town of Caernarfon. It was intended to serve the burgesses of the town and its garrison. Much restored in the nineteenth century, especially 1870-74.
