Caldey Abbey, Caldey Island
Abbot's Chapel

Probably sixteenth or seventeenth century, French (Breton) or possibly Spanish. Donated to the Abbey in 2005.

The figure is similar to that found in a number of Breton tableaux of this period, and may originally have been part of such a representation of the burial of Jesus.
