medium: wood technique: carved, painted Caldey Abbey, Caldey Island Abbot's Chapel Probably sixteenth or seventeenth century, French (Breton) or possibly Spanish. Donated to the Abbey in 2005. The figure is similar to that found in a number of Breton tableaux of this period, and may originally have been part of such a representation of the burial of Jesus.  (ObjectID=582 ImageID=1260) Original File Name=_MG_2547.jpg
