The Good Samaritan

The Good Samaritan tends to the wounded man as the passers by can be seen in the left-hand light. technique: stained glass size: 45 cm (width of each light) artist: probably Christopher Charles Powell Church of St Ffraid, Trearddur Bay, Anglesey north wall of the nave The window was one of four made for the church in the 1940s by C.C. Powell. A faculty for the window is dated June 1948 (with thanks to George Lees for information about the faculty). Given in memory of Sarah Ann McKerrow by her sisters and brother. A note in the church archives suggests that the window represents the Prodigal Son, but the design follows conventional imagery of the parable of the Good Samaritan, with the two passers by in the left-hand light and the donkey of the Samaritan in the background of the right-hand light.  (ObjectID=5326 ImageID=10506) Original File Name=TrearddurBay_DSC5809A.jpg
