The Adoration of the Magi
detail from The Annunciation and Adoration of the Magi
Photo © Martin Crampin | about 1942 Single-light window with two scenes.technique: stained glass size: 45 cm (width) designer: Christopher Charles Powell Church of St Ffraid, Trearddur Bay, Anglesey south wall of the nave Given in memory of Edith Agnes Longueville (1838–1926) 'a generous benefactress of this Church', by her friends. The window was one of a number made for the church in the 1940s by C.C. Powell. A faculty for the window is dated February 1942 (with thanks to George Lees for information about the faculty). However much of the glass is not consistent with the work of the artist suggesting some heavy restoration, presumably due to damage, later in the twentieth century or more recently. |
