Church (Anglican)

The church was established as a Benedictine nunnery under the patronage of Richard de Clare (Strongbow) in about 1135, although there is a possibility that an earlier church existed on the site. Subsequently extended to the west, and a north aisle added, the church was made the parish church at the Dissolution in 1536. After further work by T.H. Wyatt in the nineteenth century, the church was restored by G.E. Halliday in 1899-1900.
