Five-light window. A scene across all of the five lights shows a male standing figure at the centre, a lake behind and a fishing boat. Seated male figures in the outer lights, one mending nets with a bowl of fish at his feet, and a further figure kneeling before the central figure. Sacred heraldry above, as well as the arms of the diocese and the saltire of St Andrew and Scotland.

technique: stained glass

Church of St Andrew, Colwyn Bay, Conwy
west wall of the nave

Signed by 'Leyland & Sons, Colwyn Bay'.

The imagery of the window is not straightforward, but may represent the figure of Andrew (centre) being called by Christ, although Christ is not present. Alternatively, the figure at the centre is Christ (the kneeling figure to the left might indicate this), and Andrew is attentive to Christ's call – perhaps the figure seated at the far left, beneath the saltire, or the young kneeling figure. Is Peter perhaps the figure at the right, or are the two pairs of brothers represented: Peter and Andrew, and James and John?
