St Michael Overcoming the Devil

The picture is a copy of 'St Michael slaying Lucifer' (1636) by Guido Reni (1575-1642) for Cardinal Franceso Barberini, and now in Sta Maria della Concezione, Rome. The features of Lucifer are those of (from 1644) Pope Innocent X. as painted by Velasquez. |
