1886 Three-light window with Ruth clinging to Naomi, the building of a synagogue and a man and a woman, probably Lord and Lady Londonderry performing acts of mercy. technique: stained glass patron: Londonderry (family) firm/studio: Ward & Hughes Church of St Peter, Machynlleth, Powys south wall of the chancel Signed Ward & Hughes London 1886. Texts: Thy people shall be my people and thy God my God (Ruth 1:16); For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue (Luke 7:5); As ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me (Matthew 25:40). Given in memory of George Henry Robert Charles William, 5th Marquess of Londonderry (d.1884) by his 'Welsh friends and neighbours'.
