Three large copies of painting by Peter Paul Rubens. technique: painting artist (after): Peter Paul Rubens Church of St Mary, Beddgelert, Gwynedd south wall of the nave Probably nineteenth century, given to the church in 1938. The Elevation of the Cross (1610) and the Descent from the Cross (1612-14) are the central panels from triptychs in Antwerp Cathedral. The Descent from the Cross is one of a number of versions of this scene by the artist. The central painting, Christ on the Cross between the Two Thieves (1619-20), is a copy of another painting from Antwerp, now at the Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten.  (ObjectID=1255 ImageID=7070) Original File Name=Beddgelert_DSC0500A.jpg
