William Glasby (1863-1941)

Chief glass painter for James Powell & Sons, the firm he joined as an apprentice in 1876. William Glasby then worked as a painter for Henry Holiday and Morris & Co. He began producing work to his own design by about 1897, but does not seem to have established his own studio until about 1920. In 1930 he had an office in Kensington, and his studio was in Putney.
