Eight further saints, four at each side, include the four evangelists and John the Baptist. The other three figures are uncertain, and probably depict prophets.medium: oak technique: carved, gilt designer: John Oldrid Scott Bangor Cathedral, Bangor, Gwynedd east wall of the presbytery A reredos had been designed by Gilbert Scott for the restored presbytery, but was not made. It was eventually funded by Elizabeth Symes, in memory of her brother Lieutenant-Colonel Holt, under the supervision of J. Oldrid Scott, and installed late in 1882. The reredos was gilded in 1984. |
