Round window.

technique: stained glass
size: 60 cm (diameter) [approx]
artist: Theodore Baily

Church of St David, Caldey Island
west gable of the nave

The roundel forms the west window of the church, often the "Mary window". Baily has here skilfully formed the monogram M out of the trees and their branches. The star encapsulated in an aureole, and cradled in the upper branches of the central tree represents the Incarnation of the Christ in the womb of Mary.
