Christ the Good Shepherd
Photo © Martin Crampin, Imaging the Bible in Wales | about 1880 technique: stained glassfirm/studio: Michael and Arthur O'Connor Church of St Mary, Angle, Pembrokeshire south wall of chancel A more complex image than that by Wailes in this church. Here the shepherd Christ is again shown with the lost sheep (Luke 15:6) but is depicted wearing the crown of thorns (Matthew 27:29) and with the wound of crucifixion shown clearly in his hand. This is Christ the shepherd who lays down his life for the sheep (John 10:15). |
