1954
Five-light window based on the Te Deum Laudamus with the risen Christ in front of the cross surrounded by angels with the archangels St Michael and St Gabriel either side. Below is the Lamb of God and figures of the Virgin Mary, St John the Baptist, St Peter, St James the Great, St Stephen?, St Martin, St David and another bishop. The dove of the Holy Spirit is uppermost in the tracery, with the symbols of the Four Evangelists below. Details also show the pillars of Solomon's Temple at Jerusalem, and the Cathedral Church of St John the Evangelist at Brecon.

technique: stained glass
size: 350 cm (width)
firm/studio: A. K. Nicholson Stained Glass Studios
designer: Gerald Edward Roberts Smith

Church of St James, Uplands, Swansea
east wall of chancel

Inscription above the cross reads 'Thou art the king of Glory O Christ.' A series of texts below the figures reads: 'The fellowship of the prophets, the Glorious company of the apostles, the noble army of martyrs, the holy church throughout the world' and under the Agnus Dei: 'We praise thee O God we acknowledge thee to be the Lord.' The Virgin Mary holds the text 'The virgin shall conceive and bear a son.' An amazing sensory experience, with the circle of angels with trumpets and incense, surrounding the risen Christ crowned as king in glory.
Information from Arthur Morris via church website.

Both windows by the Studio in this church date from nearly twenty years after Nicholson's death, and are the work of G.E.R. Smith, who subsequently ran the firm.
