early twentieth century Single-light window with standing figure of Christ knocking at a door, derived from the famous painting by William Holman Hunt. technique: stained glass size: 65 cm (width) firm/studio: Robert J. Newbery Church of St Peter, Glasbury, Powys south wall of the nave The window could be contemporary with the Boer War memorial window by the same firm. Text: 'I am the light of the World". A particularly weak derivative from Holman Hunt, albeit a typical work by the firm. Note the curious placing of the pot of lilies - emblem of the Virgin Mary and associated with the Annunciation - on the doorstep.  (ObjectID=313 ImageID=987) Original File Name=_MG_1918.jpg
