about 1964 Complex two-light window with figure of Christ and disciples at the top of the window, and texts and scenes below. technique: stained glass size: 38 cm (width of each light) artist: Hugh Powell Church of St Arvan, St Arvans, Monmouthshire north wall of the north aisle Signed by the artist. Text: 'Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed into the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a householder which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old' (Matthew 13:52). Given in memory of Commander Anthony Cotton Powell (1894-1964). The window was the concept of his wife, and the artist was his cousin. The book and scribe, and the unusual text from Matthew, allude to his literary activities.
