The Good Wife

1902 Single-light window with a family group: a woman standing with three girls around her, and a man seated at the right. (Proverbs 31:28). The angels below hold the text: 'Thou sparest all for they are thine O Lord thou lover of souls' (Wisdom of Solomon 11:26). The scroll continues: 'Dedicated by Sir John J. Jenkins AD 1902.' The theme of the good wife has presumably been chosen here in memory of the wife of the donor, and the family group depicted is that of the donor, although the style of the faces is in the usual style of the firm, rather than being suggestive of portraits.  (ObjectID=4685 ImageID=8855) Original File Name=Clydach_DSC5249A.jpg
