The Parable of the Talents and Christ with Mary and Martha

1900 Single-light window. The top scene shows the three servants bringing back their talents to the master, while below Christ addresses Martha, with Mary at his feet and another seated behind at the table. technique: stained glass firm/studio: Robert J. Newbery donor: William Thomas Lewis Church of St Tydfil, Merthyr Tydfil north wall of the nave Texts: 'Well done, good and faithful servant thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things enter thou into the joy of thy Lord' (Matthew 25:23); 'Thou art careful and troubled about many things but one thing is needful and Mary hath chosen that good part which shall not be taken away from her' (Luke 10:41-2). The window was given by Sir William T. Lewis in memory of his great grandfather, grandfather, and father of Abercanaid House, all of whom worshipped in the church.
