about 1915 Two-light window with scene of Christ's encounter with a centurion who kneels before him and asks for the healing of his servant. Angels with texts above and below. technique: stained glass firm/studio: Robert J. Newbery Church of St Elvan, Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taff west end of the nave, south side Text held by angels below the main scene: 'As thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee' (Matthew 8:13). Text held by angels above: 'Be strong and of a good courage', a phrase found several times in Deuteronomy 31 and Joshua 1 before and after the death of Moses as the Israelites were about to enter the promised land.
