The symbol of Luke is shown above.technique: stained glass firm/studio: probably Burlison & Grylls Church of St Mary, Brecon, Powys south wall of the south aisle Dedication: 'To the Glory of God and in loving memory of John Kirk of Brecon, born Christmas Day 1818, died 18th October 1888. The winged ox, the symbol of Luke the Evangelist, is appropriate as Luke is the only gospel writer to include all of these details in his account of the birth of Christ. |
