Church of St Twrog, Maentwrog, Gwynedd
west end of the nave

The window was commissioned at the time of the reopening of the church in 1896.

Edmwnd Prys was the author of Salmau Cân Cymreig (1621) and archdeacon of Merioneth. He was granted the living of Ffestiniog and Maentwrog from 1572 until his death in 1623, although also rector of Ludlow. He lived at Tyddyn-du, Maentwrog from about 1576.

With thanks to Gruffydd Aled Williams for the correct identification of the 'Psalmist of Wales', and providing a date for the window, which was mentioned in The Cambrian News, 27 November 1896, 3. The window is attributed to Mr. Trampton [sic].
