Crucifixion with the Virgin Mary, St John and Saints

1916 Three-light window. Christ with Mary and John and kneeling bishops, one of whom (right-hand light) has the model of a church by his side, while the other has the arms of St Davids. Angels hold the instruments of the Passion above, while figures hold Old Testament texts below. technique: stained glass firm/studio: C.E. Kempe & Co Ltd Church of St David and St Cyfelach, Llangyfelach, Swansea east wall of the chancel Old Testament texts: 'Behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow' (Lamentations 1:12) 'Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows' (Isaiah 53:4) and 'What are these wounds in thine hands?' (Zechariah 13:6). This identifies the figures below, partly hidden by the reredos, as the authors of these texts.
