1908 Three-light window. technique: stained glass artist: Mary Lowndes patron: Londonderry (family) Church of St Peter, Machynlleth, Powys north wall Although the window carries no dedication, the window appears to commemorate Mary Cornelia, wife of the Fifth Marquess of Londonderry. She died in 1906, after a period as churchwarden during the time of the restoration of the church. Text above the scenes: 'Who can find a virtuous woman, for her price is far above rubies; her children shall rise up & call her blessed' (Proverbs 31:10;28). Text below: 'She is like the merchant Ships she bringeth her food from afar' (Proverbs 31:14); 'She considereth a Field and byeth it with the Fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard' (Proverbs 31:16); 'She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; Yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy' (Proverbs 31:20).  (ObjectID=1322 ImageID=2773) Original File Name=_MG_9432.jpg
