about 1887 Three-light window with standing figure of John the Baptist holding a cross a lamb (the Agnus Dei), and pointing towards it with the other hand. The scenes at the sides show John preaching to a crowd, and John baptising Christ in the Jordan.technique: stained glass size: 51 cm (width of each light) designer: probably Charles Hean Church of St John, Porthmadog, Gwynedd south wall of the south aisle Given in memory of John Thomas (1823–87). The design of the window is suggestive of the work of Charles Hean, who designed and/or made other windows in nearby churches at Cricieth and Boduan. |
