Ian Grainger (1942-2007)

Ian Grainger was born in Rhodesia in 1942 and settled in Britain in 1965. He received his art training in Bournemouth and Sunderland and held a fellowship in painting at Birmingham before spending a year at the Art Institute of Chicago. Between 1971 and 1973 he was a Rome Scholar (engraving), and taught at Cardiff College of Art from 1973. He has exhibited in Britain and Europe and had one-man shows in the University of Chicago, Sunderland Arts Centre and ORIEL. He is represented in the Welsh Arts Council's collection, and in private collections in Britain, Europe and America.
