Scenes from left to right, north wall: The Wedding at Cana, Jesus healing the sick, the Raising of Jairus' daughter, the Entry into Jerusalem. An angel appearing to the shepherds on the hillside is shown in the upper right-hand part of the scene. technique: painting size: 175 cm (width of each scene) artist: John Ellis Troughton Church of St John the Baptist, Penymynydd, Flintshire nave This series of frescoes relies heavily on the work of a contemporary, the German artist Johann Friedrich Overbeck (1789-1869), a Catholic convert who lived and worked for most of his life in Rome.
