Mary Oakeley (died 1914)

Daughter of Captain John Russell and wife of the industrialist William Edward Oakeley (1828-1912) of Plas Tan-y-Bwlch, Maentwrog. She carved the woodwork for the restored church at Maentwrog, which was paid for by the family. The quality of her work suggests that she is likely to have undertaken some formal training.
