The Virgin Mary and the Risen Christ

probably early twentieth century
Two-light window. Standing figures surrounded by angels.

technique: stained glass
size: 60 cm (width of each light)

Church of St Illtyd, Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil
(liturgical) north wall of the north aisle

Probably by John Hardman & Co.

The figure of Mary clearly shows her assumption into heaven, with angels, and the corresponding image of Christ perhaps also depicts his ascension, although unusually there is no suggestion of the disciples below, which is common to most images of the Ascension.
