Christ the Good Shepherd and Job

Christ holds a lamb while Job holds a baby with a another young child beside him. technique: stained glass Church of St Peter, Llanbedr, Gwynedd south wall of the nave The style is very close to that of Clayton and Bell. Given in memory of Hannæ Pope, 21 Nov 1880. The figure on the right, presumably depicting Job, has a reference to the text Job 29: 12: 'Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him'. The theme of caring for the poor and the orphan is naturally echoed in the familiar image of Christ the Good Shepherd who seeks out the lost sheep.  (ObjectID=1398 ImageID=4707) Original File Name=_MG_0143A.jpg
