A Soldier Presented to Christ by St George

about 1920 Two-light window with Christ receiving a kneeling soldier presented by St George. technique: stained glass size: 52 cm (width of each light) firm/studio: Wm. Pearce & E. Cutler Llanthewy Road Baptist Church, Newport side wall Signed W. Pearce and E. Cutler, Birmingham. Dedication: 'In memory of soldiers from the Church who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-1918.' The features of the kneeling soldier may be taken from an individual portrait, though as the window is in memory of all the members of the church who fell in the war, it is probably an idealised one.
