about 1919 Single-light window with a standing figure of David holding a harp, over a lower panel depicting a woman tending to a sick or injured man. technique: stained glass size: 60 cm (width) firm/studio: Samuel Evans & Co. Church of St Matthew, Newport north wall of the nave (latterly converted to a hall) Text: 'I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.' Psalm 30:1. Dedication: 'To the Glory of God and in grateful thanks-giving for the heroism of our Soldiers and for the inestimable gift of victorious peace this window is erected by Mr S.
