1924, with fifteenth century fragments
Five-light window. Christ on the cross is shown flanked by Mary and John, and also Archbishop Baldwin and Gerald of Wales.

technique: stained glass

artist: Horace Wilkinson

Church of St Mary, Cardigan, Ceredigion
east wall of the chancel

Signed and dated with the maker's mark.

Surviving fragments of fifteenth century glass, extremely rare for the region, have been set in the upper tracery lights. They were temporarily exhibited by the artist at the Art Workers Guild.

Although Gerald of Wales may be found depicted in several churches in Wales, the depiction of Archbishop Baldwin of Canterbury, with whom he travelled through Wales in 1188, is much less common.
