Five figures under arcading: St Paul, St John Chrysostom, Girolamo Savonarola (the late medieval 'revivalist' preacher in Italy), Canon H.P. Liddon of St Paul's Cathedral and Bishop Hugh Latimer.

medium: polychrome stone
technique: carved

Church of St James, Cardiff
nave

Given to the church by Mrs M.A. Riches.

Unlike the later reredos and windows in the sanctuary apse which include Welsh saints, the choice of preachers does not include any of the famous preachers revered by the Welsh Non-conformist tradition. Although the Eastern and Western, Catholic and Reformed traditions are represented, there is an emphasis on the Catholic, and nothing from the Methodist tradition.
