An arresting blue-grey ceramic group of 1880, designed and made by the firm of Doulton & Co. of Lambeth, who employed a talented group of artists. At this date each work was unique. The works, founded in the 1820s, continued until 1956, but in 1880 were closely associated with the Arts & Crafts movement. This lectern was made for the old 'mother' church of Penrhyn-coch, Llanbadarn Fawr, and moved here at a later date.
