1919 Three-light window. Figure of the risen Christ with arms outstretched, angels above and below, in the central light. Standing figure of Christ in the left-hand light, with a man kneeling below wearing armour. Female saint in the right-hand light, with lilies and two children. Angels holding texts above. technique: stained glass firm/studio: John Hardman & Co. Church of St George, St George, Conwy east wall of the chancel Given in memory of Hugh Robat Hughes of Kinmel, and his wife Florentia Emily, by their children and grandchildren, 1919. The text held by angels can be read as a single quotation: 'The Lord shall stand by them and the care of them is with the Most High', although it is two quotations. The former part is from Psalm 37:41 (from the version in the Book of Common Prayer and not the Authorised version), and the latter half (right-hand light) is from the Wisdom of Solomon 1:15. The meaning of the outer lights is not clear. The female figure is probably suggestive of charity, and while the lilies are suggestive of the iconography of the Virgin Mary, little else is. Perhaps she and the male figure opposite are idealised representations of Hugh and Florentia Hughes.  (ObjectID=5122 ImageID=10082) Original File Name=StGeorge_DSC2596.jpg
